Animated Cinema Pops Up in Keighley
A temporary cinema celebrating animation and local talent popped up on North Street, Keighley from 12-19 April.
The pop-up cinema used an empty shop space to showcase local talent from schools in Keighley and animators from the district. The showcased work featured different styles, from stop-motion to 3D animation. An animation from Parkwood Primary featured a Viking story and the award winning ‘The Fisherman’, by Keighley based animator Bill Beaumont, is a story about a holiday souvenir trying to make its way home.
The event was set up by Voting Matters with help from the Keighley Town Centre Association and sponsored by Cavendish Cameras & Photography, Offshoot, Crazy Cats and Reids Bookshop. Voting Matters also showcased a specially commissioned animation that encourages people to vote in the coming general and local elections.
Check it out for yourself!
